Ashna supports our general network development and strategy, as well as youth engagement work. She is exploring how to apply social work skills and practices within organizational processes. Ashna received her BA in Psychology from Rutgers University and is currently pursuing her MSW at Columbia School of Social Work.
Prior to joining SSN, she worked in early education research and had experience facilitating SEL sessions with elementary schoolers. She is committed to understanding root causes of systemic inequities that impact young people.

We asked: What fictional character do you most identify with, and why?
Ashna answered: I’ve always identified with Winnie the Pooh. He doesn’t take himself too seriously and enjoys the simple things in life (like honey). Above all else, Pooh is fiercely loyal to his loved ones and loves to bring them along on his adventures.
