More about Daniela

Daniela has deep experience in designing, implementing, and scaling educational enrichment programming along the cradle-to-college-to-career continuum. Before joining SSN, Daniela spent eight years as a thought and implementation partner, delivering high-touch services to increase graduation rates as a part of CUNY ASAP’s leadership team. While at CUNY, she facilitated collaborative processes across six participating colleges to redesign essential program components and onboard three new colleges to support ASAP’s expansion to over 25,000 students. She also served as the liaison to Complete College America's Guided Pathways to Success City Strategy, which assisted cities in planning ASAP replication projects. Before moving to NYC, she managed a scholarship and retention program for under-represented students at UC Berkeley and prior, began her career as a registered dietitian, coordinating nutrition and physical activity training programs for K-12 schools and community based youth providers in the Bay Area. Daniela holds a Master of Science from Milano School of Management, Policy, and Environment and a bachelor’s degree from University of California, Berkeley. She’s Mom to a second grader and a first generation college graduate.

Hear from Daniela

We asked: Outside of your career, what is your proudest achievement?

Daniela answered: Besides the birth of my son and my journey as a parent, I’m most proud of following my love for music and becoming a DJ entrepreneur. During the late 90’s through 2015, I collaborated across promoters, other DJs, artists, activists, and business owners in the Bay Area and NYC to move dance floors, bring people together and build community around black music culture and dance. I’m looking forward to opportunities to spin music out again from hip-hop to house and everything in between, perhaps at a future SSN happy hour.
